Our History
The roots of AICI trace back to New York City in the 1980s, when renowned consultant Jennifer Parkinson proposed uniting two leading organizations—the National Association of Image Consultants and the Association of Image Consultants—into one international body.
In 1989, this vision became a reality when Jennifer and Alyce Parsons co-led the newly formed Association of Image Consultants International (AICI). The New York Chapter emerged as a pioneering hub and has since grown into the foundation for today’s AICI USA Chapter—a national platform that reflects the diverse, inclusive, and dynamic spirit of American image professionals.
